Formula 1 has surely seen an upward graph in the past few years in terms of popularity. Several factors collectively have helped enhance the fame of sport across the globe. This has resulted in a vast spectatorship, which can further lead to some mis-happenings in the paddock. And unfortunately, we got to witness the same ahead of the Mexican Grand Prix. Mexican F1 fans have always been enthusiastic and passionate. This makes the race at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez an exciting event for the teams. However, there is a different and dark side to this. It is the extreme behavior of fans and them not being able to control their emotions.
One of the drivers have even suggested that Formula 1 needs to introduce some paddock guidelines. It is Daniel Ricciardo who demanded the guidelines after an incident happened with him where he was mobbed between the team’s hospitality suite and the garage.
He said, “To be honest, this year’s got more hectic, I do like having an atmosphere in the paddock, I think it should be a fun place to be. But there should also be boundaries. I think to be in the paddock and have a VIP pass, it’s a privilege. And I think you also should act with some maturity and have respect.”
Daniel Ricciardo is not the only driver who has faced issues due to the extreme behavior of fans. There are many such drivers. One of them is AlphaTauri’s Pierre Gasly who has had a somewhat similar experience.
Pierre Gasly thinks the ticket holders need to be more respectful toward drivers
Like the Australian, Pierre Gasly has also complained about the inappropriate behavior of the people in the paddock. The AlphaTauri driver showed his disappointment with the people as he found his bag, containing his personal accessories, opened for the second time.

The French driver believes the people who are granted access to the paddock are not behaving properly and need to show some respect to the drivers. In response to a question from RaceFans, Gasly said, “I think letting people in is fine, but it’s true that I feel like some guests sometimes are not really respecting the space that we need.”
He added, “I just feel like at the moment we never had any security in F1 and maybe there is something we can do.”
