F1 is one of the most famous motorsports. It is fascinating to see the F1 cars racing against each other. However, the most fascinating thing to look for in a Formula One race is the overtaking. The first race took place in 1950 and since then there have been countless overtakes in F1 history. Among so many overtakes, Nelson Piquet’s gutsy overtaking maneuver over Ayrton Senna in the 1986 Hungarian GP is the most memorable.

During that race, Piquet was a two-time world champion while his young countryman Senna was a prodigy. Back then, Ayrton Senna impressed the audience with this phenomenal driver. However, the Brazilian legend Piquet showcased who was the boss in the newly established Hungarian GP.

Senna started the 1986 Hungarian GP from pole and was leading the race for the most part of the race. But Nelson Piquet moved a bit outside of the track and made a gusty turn from the outside. He pulled off a successful overtake on Senna and with that move, Piquet stole the victory to his name. Piquet’s overtake on Senna remains one of the best overtaking moves in F1 history to this date.

Monaco GP will stay beyond the F1 2022 season

F1 announced that Las Vegas would join the 2023 schedule. Further, another American race, Miami Grand Prix, will take place this season. Because of so many new races joining the schedule, there are chances for many old ones to lose their place on the calendar.

Recently, there have been a lot of rumors surrounding the Monaco GP that this season might be the last appearance of this prestigious race track. If this is the case, then it would be a tremendous shock to the F1 community, as the Monaco GP is among the crown jewel of the motorsport.

However, the president of the Automobile Club de Monaco rejected those rumors. He stated that 2022 will not be the last appearance for Monaco and drivers will again drive on this circuit next season. At the moment, both the authorities of Formula 1 and Monaco GP are working on a new contract and it is only a few steps away from being finalized.
