F1’s Bond villain-like figure has changed Miami’s skyline but in a positive protagonist way. Aston Martin’s Executive Chairman and their F1 team’s billionaire owner, Lawrence Stroll, not only envisioned boosting the car manufacturer’s foray into the luxurious real estate market but also brought it to life in Florida’s Magic City. The Miami River now boasts a $1 Billion, 66-story, residential tower at its Biscayne Bay end, courtesy of Stroll and Aston Martin.

Named ‘Aston Martin Residences Miami’, the high-end project is the “tallest all-residential building south of New York City”. An Art gallery, two movie theaters, a virtual golf simulator, a business center, a beauty salon, an infinity pool with a pool deck, jacuzzis, cabanas – you name it, Aston Martin has designed it.

With the Miami GP-induced increasing foot traffic, Lawrence Stroll has timed the official opening of this project to perfection. 99% of the condominiums have already been sold. Aston Martin’s Executive VP Marek Reichman described the project as “Melding a captivating design aesthetic with one of the city’s most idyllic locations, on one of the last parcels of the Miami waterfront.” The sports car manufactures have set a high standard for luxury residential design around the world, with 42,275 square feet of “Sky Amenities” in downtown Miami.

Stroll, with his vision and business acumen, is elevating Aston Martin to new heights. Though their 2024 F1 performance is underwhelming compared to 2023, the billionaire’s plans to improve its valuation is in full swing.

Lawrence Stroll in surprise talks to sell 25% Aston Martin F1 stake

In 2018, Lawrence Stroll bought Aston Martin F1 in 2018, when the team was known as Force India. He then rebranded it to Racing Point in 2019, before buying a 16.7% stake in Aston Martin in 2021 (the luxury car manufacturer, not the F1 team) and finally rebranded the team to Aston Martin F1.

The Canadian businessman then steered the team to new heights in 2023. Their star driver, Fernando Alonso racked up several podium finishes and uplifted the team’s morale. In November 2023, Stroll sold a $1.3 Billion stake to Arctos Partners. Following that success, he is looking to sell a 25% stake to more potential investors reaching out to him. This move comes in a bid to cash in on the team’s rising valuation and boost it further.

This is a promising time for the team to attract more investors. Stroll has already built a new, $220 million headquarters for AMR in Silverstone. Moreover, 2-time champion Alonso has signed a fresh contract with them that is the longest of his career. With departing Red Bull technical mastermind Adrian Newey having talks with Stroll, Aston Martin’s F1 future looks even more encouraging.
