Red Bull just launched their 2021 livery that Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez will drive for this season. One of the key changes was the name of the sponsors from last year on the livery, with their new driver, Sergio Perez, being the main reason behind this change.
The Mexican brings significant backing to his Formula 1 team. The prodigious talent caught the eye of Telmex, a Mexican telecommunications company earlier in his racing career, and has since been heavily sponsored by the company.
When we look at the 2021 livery, we notice that Aston Martin is absent from the team’s list of sponsors, as they plan to enter the grid with their own team this season.

Telmex & Sergio Perez knock out AT&T’s partnership
Sergio Perez and Telmex’s partnership goes back three decades, well before the Mexican started racing competitively. Telmex is a telecommunications company that is a dominant payer in the Mexican market. It is a subsidiary of America Movil, a telecom corporate giant listed in the Forbes Global 2000 companies.
Red Bull had a long-standing partnership with AT&T, an American telecommunication company that has sponsored Red Bull since 2012. The company also provided the team with telecom and communications technology during the season.

However, as Perez brought in Telmex, Red Bull ended their partnership with AT&T and got on board three more companies associated with America Movil.
The team are now sponsored by Telcel, a Telmex subsidiary that provides mobile communications; Infinitum, Telmex’s internet offering company that provides data, Wifi networks and IT services; and Claro, another Mexican telecom group that is a part of America Movil.
Besides Telmex, Sergio Perez also helped bring Mexico’s largest insurance broker to Red Bull. INTERprotección has been supporting Sergio Perez, the company’s brand ambassador, for the last 10 years. The company reinforced their partnership with Red Bull last week.
