Going back a year, Red Bull’s star driver Max Verstappen was confirmed as the new World champion on December 12, 2021. Despite protests by team Mercedes and its fans, there was little the FIA could do or have in their hands to do as Verstappen trumped Hamilton at the very last lap of the very last race.

While many pointed out the decision made by the then race director Michael Masi and his way of handling the race, Lewis Hamilton fans are still unwilling to accept the Dutchman as the legit 2021 F1 world champion. For Lewis Hamilton fans, this wasn’t an anniversary they have enjoyed or will enjoy for the rest of their lives.

Hamilton went to spend some private moments immediately after the race and there was a blame game going on with each other. Ultimately, FIA called the entire situation a human error and sacked Michael Masi for internal reasons.
