With Coachella already behind us, the fever of the music fest hasn’t quite left us. For the Formula 1 community, it meant seeing Lewis Hamilton be his happiest self. While one of Hamilton’s shirtless photos has been making the rounds, one often wonders if going topless is a Mercedes driver thing. And George Russell recently admitted to Mercedes encashing his thirst traps.
When the “type of guy” trend had gone viral on the internet, Russell’s best buddy Alex Albon described him as “He is the kind of guy to take his top off during security check in an airport!” George Russell has often been spotted posting thirsty pictures of himself. So much so that his peers and co-drivers have branded him as the shirtless wonder despite man’s protests saying his teammate does it more than him.
Talking to the hosts of the Fast and Curious podcast, Russell was reminded of Lewis getting topless photos in the middle of the Colorado desert. The conversation then moved forward to the time in Silverstone where Russell said his 7x champ teammate goes bare more than him. Moving forward, George then went on to explain saying, “I often wear an ice vest underneath my suit before I jump in the car. So obviously I have to undo my suit and,” he was cut off by the hostess saying, “Yeah, yeah, yeah.”

Mercedes’ new man then stated that the team “may have sneakily posted one of me without me realizing after.” And in the hilarious banter, the host popped in to turn the blame on Russell stating, “I can imagine you slipping the photographer a five.” Russell gave a clarification saying, “They are the ones chasing me for that, they know it’s the money shot.”
While this seems all fun and games, the real problem of the driver duo hasn’t been solved yet. Will Mercedes be able to go back to winning days?

The fun banter has been going well, but the real deal, W14, isn’t where it was intended to be. However, the team boss Toto Wolff has shown the world a ray of sunshine, saying the improvement and development are encouraging.
According to MercedesamgF1.com, Toto Wolff said, “In terms of car development, it is encouraging to see that within three races, we understand the car much better, we have defined a clear direction where we need to go and I believe we are on the right trajectory.” Further adding, “We will consistently be bringing upgrades to the car over the next few races, which is something to look forward to. But there is no such thing as a magic bullet that transforms the car, and it’s about being realistic with your expectations. Hopefully, we will see a steady improvement.”
