Wolff took the high road with Red Bull
After much anticipation, the Mercedes team finally decided to withdraw the appeal against Red Bull. A lot has happened over the last four days. Initially, the Brackley team decided to challenge Verstappen’s win, but the Stewards rejected the protests. They were planning to appeal against it. However, according to the latest reports, they are no longer going to pursue this any further.
Notably, Mercedes’ boss sent his wishes to the Red Bull prodigy after his maiden F1 title. “Toto sent me a text, congratulations on the season and that I deserved to win it, so that was very nice of him of course,” said Verstappen as reported by ESPN.
