Formula 1 rivalries have given us some epic face-offs. But while most of them have been intense and ferocious, sometimes, the teams also see the lighter side of the whole deal. With the advent of social media, a new phenomenon has been given a playing ground. Formula 1 fans are passionate, no doubt, but they are also hilariously creative. And with memes now being a staple of how an F1 fan enjoys this sport, teams, and drivers have started to appeal even more to the general audience. Lando Norris and George Russell recently got into it, too!

A lot has been made about the F1 intro credits. This year, like the years before, F1 drivers have had this one trademark pose they hold while the F1 theme is blasted into the ears of fans before each official event. And Mercedes star, Russell, has made the “looking down while my hands are up” pose his thing. And as we now move into an action-packed triple-header, McLaren and Norris thought it well to recreate the patented moment to ignite some feistiness among the fanbase.

The Woking-based team took to their Twitter account to share a picture of Norris holding “The Russell” pose and even tagged the Silver Arrows’ star to the post! Safe to say, what ensued was hilarious carnage brought on by creative F1 fans.
