Red Bull has won 5 constructors’ titles and 6 drivers’ titles ever since their inception. All eleven of those championship trophies have come through 2 drivers: Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen. While Sebastian delivered his share of laurels between 2010 to 2013, Max Verstappen only took over the charge last year.

At the beginning of the season, Vettel asked Verstappen for a helmet swap, and the Dutchman said maybe they can do that later in the season. So after much anticipation, Red Bull’s two golden boys finally swapped helmets ahead of the German’s retirement.

Sebastian Vettel will race his last tonight in Abu Dhabi. He has had an illustrious career spanning over 15 years, and his golden period was among the most dominant eras of Formula 1. Now, as Max Verstappen began his dominant run for the Milton-Keynes-based outfit, fans are left with no choice but to draw comparisons between the two.

Fans get emotional as Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen swap helmets

Max Verstappen recently recalled the incident with Sebastian Vettel that won his heart. Verstappen revealed how Vettel was the only one waiting for him to return from the hospital after the crash at Silverstone last year.

Max told the media, “So when I came back from the hospital to get to my motorhome to get all my stuff, he was there waiting for me. When I got out of the car and you [Vettel] said ‘Hey, Max, like how you doing? Are you okay?”

Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen swapped helmets ahead of the Abu Dhabi GP. Seb wrote a heartfelt message on the helmet he gave to the reigning champion. Seb wrote, “To Max, Max, impressive to see you come up and go push. Well done and best wishes. Always think for yourself and keep growing. Enjoy!”
