Charles Leclerc’s humorous suspicion of Mexican sweets breaks the internet

As the Mexican Grand Prix is coming up, anticipation and hype are building among fans. Especially among fans of Sergio Perez who want to see their dear Checo win at his home track.

And the Ferrari drivers are well aware of this. In a recent interview, the two spoke about their upcoming race in Mexico and the pressures involved in it. At the end of the interview, they were offered Mexican candy and sweets by the hosts. To this, Charles jokingly asked, “Is this to make us go slower for Checo to win?”

Leclerc’s wry comment has sent the internet into a frenzy over the 24-year-old’s sense of humor.

Carlos Sainz was the first to try the candy and his reaction was less than pleasant. Charles was quick to pick up on that and immediately avoided that candy, eating the other ones. Even when Carlos tried to coax Charles into having the candy he tried, the Monegasque won’t be moved. Fans also latched onto that and so began the hilarity at their expense.
