Formula One is indeed one of the best places to indulge in ‘watch spotting’, as it is quite usual to witness the drivers often sporting extravagant wearables on their wrists like Daniel Ricciardo’s bulky Richard Mille and Lewis Hamilton’s classic IWC Schaffhausen. Similarly, 2021 F1 world champion, Max Verstappen, too, was recently spotted flaunting a prestigious-looking Rolex.
A picture surfaced on social media featuring Verstappen and his girlfriend, Kelly Piquet. However, quite interestingly, neither of them managed to find themselves under the spotlight, rather it was the glittering watch that Verstappen was sporting on his left arm.
Initially, it was hard to figure out the details of the watch due to the rather poor quality of the picture. So, to a naked eye, it looked like a Silver steel-strapped watch with black color rounding the edge of the dial. But, it was quite impossible to decode anything beyond that.

Well, not anymore!
What watch was Max Verstappen wearing?
According to Vincenzo Landino, it was a Platinum Rolex Daytona Cosmograph. The reference number goes as 116506-0001.
He further described the design of the watch through the tweet. “It features the iconic ice blue dial with brown subdials matched with a brown cera chrome bezel,” his tweet read. So, how much does the watch cost? Well, being a Rolex, the numbers are obviously going to be sky-high.

The watch is likely to cost around $76,500. One might assume Rolex sponsored him the glorious-looking watch considering the fact that the British company has been a Formula One partner for ages.
However, that seems quite unlikely, as both the Red Bull drivers mostly wear offerings from Swiss watch manufacturers, Tag Heuer.

Mercedes drivers mostly stick with watches from IWC Big Pilot, as the team has a long-term partnership with the Swiss manufacturer. As mentioned earlier, Red Bull has a deal with Tag Heuer, who were also title partners for a couple of years back in 2017 and 2018.
