Pierre Gasly has been one of the most impressive drivers in F1 for a while now. The French driver has amazed everyone with his consistent performances in the races that have seen him take his midfield car in the top half of the grid quite often.

But despite this, he’s still waiting for a call from one of the top teams in Formula One. The former Red Bull driver believes he should be fighting at the level of Max Verstappen, Charles Leclerc, and Lando Norris.

It is surprising for fans to see him and his talent race in the midfield. Everyone in the sport believes that he deserves a second chance in a top team to showcase his skills behind the wheel.

Pierre Gasly mentions he belongs at the top of the tables

The AlphaTauri driver mentioned that there are limited opportunities for him to score big points and fight for victories in his current predicament. But currently, all he can do is continue to perform at a high level so that a top team notices him and gives him an opportunity to drive their car in the future.

Gasly also commented that he belongs at the top of the sport and should consistently race with the likes of Verstappen, Leclerc, and Russell.

“So this is my fifth year in Formula 1. I am doing all that because I want to fight at the front. It’s why I’m waking up every day, why I’m training every single day. Why I’m looking after my nutrition, my sleep, my recovery. Every single detail is because I want to fight with the best drivers at the top,” said Pierre.

“I see Charles in a Ferrari, I see Max in the Red Bull, George in the Mercedes, Lando in the McLaren–I’ve been fighting with these guys all my career. I know that’s where I belong and I want to get my chance to be in this position as well,” said Gasly.

The French driver was previously given an opportunity of a lifetime in 2019 when he got the Red Bull seat. But he failed to make an impact and was dropped by the Austrian team mid-season. Since then, he has been looking for a chance back to the top, but to no avail.
