Daniel Ricciardo might not be racing next season, but the McLaren driver has been very much active in securing a berth in F1 one way or another. There have been many rumors circulating regarding the Australian’s future, including the possibility of him becoming the reserve driver for Mercedes. However, in a turn of events, the 33-year-old seems to have finally made up his mind.

Daniel’s performance in Mexico certainly gave everybody on the paddock a glimpse of his old self. He rose through the ranks rapidly to finish P7, despite a 10 seconds penalty. Moreover, he executed a brilliant strategy to bring home some important points for the Woking-based team.
Additionally, Daniel seems to have finally made his mind up about which team he’ll join next year. The Australian and his current team, McLaren mutually terminated his contract earlier this year after 2 disappointing years. Furthermore, the contract dispute involving McLaren, Alpine, and Oscar Piastri wouldn’t have helped his confidence much either.
However, Daniel Ricciardo looks set to return to Red Bull Racing, 4 years after leaving the Milton Keynes-based constructors. Ricciardo enjoyed perhaps the best spell of his with Red Bull. Moreover, Red Bull boss Christian Horner is also fond of the Aussie driver.
Ricciardo finished the sprint in Brazil in P11 and will be looking to exploit Alpine’s misfortunes last night. Moreover, he will try and help McLaren clinch P4 in the constructor’s championship before he leaves the Papaya team.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Daniel but him coming back to Red Bull where he didn’t want to be a 2nd driver and now he is a 3rd driver, is a little bit funny to me.
