During the Vegas Grand Prix launch party, Mercedes men Lewis Hamilton and George Russell took to the track for a drive around. However, before the two took to the track in their respective F1 cars, both drivers got a video introduction. The introductory compilation video of Russell got the F1 fans pointing out one thing.

The video showcased one of the worst crashes of Russell’s career, yet. Specifically, the one with Valtteri Bottas back in 2021 at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix. The high-speed crash was the initial part of the video introducing the young Mercedes Brit.

Somehow the crash that Russell himself described as, “If I look back on how I handled that, I’d probably laugh at myself and say ‘what were you doing?’ I just looked like an idiot, like I’d lost the plot. And to be honest, for a second, I probably did lose the plot,” made the cut for his introduction to Vegas.

The editing on the part of the organizers did not go unnoticed by the F1 fans on Twitter as they shared their reaction.

George Russell introduced to the Vegas crowd with one of the worst crashes of his career

The crash which could’ve cost Russell his much-deserved Mercedes seat somehow made the cut. The video starts with Russell in his Mercedes suit, showcases his 80 race starts stat, and then quickly cuts to the unfortunate crash.

The hilarious addition, especially at the start of the intro video, is making the fans roll around on the ground in laughter.

Absolutely menacing from the person responsible for making the introduction video. Let’s hope the Mercedes Brit doesn’t come across it before he leaves Vegas because, as they say, ‘What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.’
