The Qualifying was magnificent. Most of all, it was clean, crashless, and very intriguing till the end. However, things were not that great for Fernando Alonso, who, according to him, was blocked by his fellow countryman, Carlos Sainz.

The two Spaniards share a protected-mentor relationship. In fact, Sainz now even drives for Ferrari; something Alonso has previously accomplished.

The Qualifying was not particularly amazing for Alonso, who landed P11. In fact, teammate Esteban Ocon did not even compete after a brutal crash during FP3. Moreover, traffic on this Miami track was a constant complain.

We saw a similar situation with Lewis Hamilton and many other drivers. The narrowness of the circuit and the high speed make it impossible to carry out every sector perfectly. The very best of the best suffered as they lost control and spun around the chassis.

Alonso, who was on a flying lap, said this: “Yeah, I mean the Ferrari destroyed my lap,”

“From turn 11 to turn 16 I had the Ferrari in front of me …. so yeah, that place should be ours.”

In a post-interview, Alonso complained and even measured the chances of a penalty. He said, “I think there are going to be safety cars and opportunities. We’ll see how many penalty positions they put on the Ferrari, although I think we’ll start 11th.”

Clearly, Alonso was not happy with whatever happened and wants to look into it. Meanwhile, Sainz, who has finished P2, has given Ferrari a dream end. After terrible luck and even crashing out once in the Miami practice session, the Spaniard has managed a brilliant run.
