She’s here! Lewis Hamilton‘s Lucky Charm is here! After a disappointing start to his home race weekend, Hamilton needed some motivation. Not just some, but a lot of motivation. The Qualifying was a mess and he ended up behind both Ferrari’s and the McLaren’s. The worse part was he was out-qualified by his teammate, George Russell. The race needed to be perfect for him to continue his 9-year streak of podiums at the British GP. And right when he needed her, Shakira came in clutch.

The Briton and the Colombian singer have been rumored to be dating since her appearance at the Miami GP earlier this year. The speculations increased and rumors strengthened with each passing race weekend. On multiple occasions, they’ve had dinner together as well. And she has proved to be Hamilton’s lucky charm time and again.

Her presence was probably the only thing that could have turned around his weekend. But, unfortunately, the ‘Waka Waka’ singer was nowhere to be seen near Silverstone after arriving in London on Friday. But on Lap 48 of the race, fans got to see a possible reason why and how Lewis Hamilton went from being P7 to P3. It was a miraculous turnaround. Shakira was seen in the paddock, chewing away on some food as she spoke with a friend.

None of the fans could keep calm after Shakira appeared on the screen. They hailed her for being the driving force for Hamilton’s stellar comeback.

Lewis Hamilton started the race in P7 and lost a couple of positions in the 1st corner itself as he went too wide. But after that mistake, he didn’t look back. And now we know why he didn’t. He was a man on a mission. A mission that, however impossible, had to be completed. And with his rumored flame’s presence, there was no question about what he could achieve.

And he did it spectacularly. He finished on the podium yet again to clinch his 14th podium at Silverstone. After the race, he said on the team radio, “Well done guys. Mega job with the pit stop and strategy.” And Toto Wolff’s team radio had a beautiful message as well, in comparison to the aggressive Austrian GP one. Wolff said, “Lewis, Great race. What a recovery!”

But the focus of the fans was entirely on the Shakira effect. Have a look at what they had to say on Twitter:

She has been labeled Hamilton’s Lucky Charm. And why not? It has been proven.

Even Wolff was made into a hilarious meme:

Like Shakira sang in her song ‘Whenever Wherever’ – “Whenever, wherever, we’re meant to be together.” Maybe they really are meant to be together. Lewis Hamilton has scripted a comeback for the ages in her presence.
