The action is finally back on in F1 after a break of 4 weeks. Baku is the first fixture that will have the new Sprint Race schedule and it is already turning out to be a thriller. Not so much for Lewis Hamilton, though, as the Briton once again continued to suffer against the likes of the Red Bulls. As he mentioned the obvious on the team radio, fans couldn’t help but troll him for it.

Mercedes went for the initial three races without a podium finish. The results were contrary to the confidence they had shown during the launch of the W14. The bad run came to an end when Hamilton grabbed P2 in Australia ahead of Fernando Alonso. Mercedes looked to carry that momentum to Azerbaijan but for some reason haven’t been able to replicate the pace they had shown in Melbourne.

The two Red Bulls meant business as soon as they hit the tarmac for qualifying. Meanwhile, Mercedes drivers struggled for pace. George Russell bowed out in just the Q2, taking home a measly P11. Hamilton made the most of the situation as he managed a P5 finish. However, as we know, he is not the one for settling for scraps.

On the team radio, commenting on Max Verstappen‘s pace, he simply remarked, “He’s much quicker than us.”

This, of course, has quite literally been the story since last year. Fans took this opportunity to bombard him with some sarcastic comments. Take a look at some reactions to his words on Twitter.

One fan couldn’t believe what an obvious thing he was stating. Fans sitting at home know how quick Max is. His own team, equipped with state-of-the-art technology, telemetrics, and GPS, surely knows it too.

One fan urged him to shift his focus on fighting the Aston Martin drivers as the fight with Red Bull, at least for now, seems like a distant dream.

Another fan talked about the P5 actually being a good result for him given how slow they have been on this circuit.
