It is no secret how close Lewis Hamilton and the queen of lawn tennis Serena Williams are. Legends of their own respective sports, the duo never let go of a chance to praise each other. While Lewis made it big in Formula 1, despite coming from a family with limited means, Serena and Venus Williams did so too. Watching their story unfold before his eyes in the movie King Richard, the F1 sensation was left awestruck.
There are quite a few similarities between the Williams sisters’ and Lewis’ stories. They both dared to step foot into a sport considered exclusive to the elite class. They both had fathers that were fiercely dedicated to ensuring they succeeded. And they both reached the very top and achieved all that was there in their respective sports.

Express UK quoted Lewis saying in March last year, “I did see it [the movie] and I was really fortunate actually during the process to be speaking to Serena and Venus about it and how excited they were about the documentary.
“All of us have watched those two, both of them rise and see their success and trials and tribulations and like all of us, we very much don’t understand what it has taken to get there,” he added. “Behind everyone who is successful, there is always somebody. I can relate to it because I have an amazing family who, without them, I would not be here today.
“I hope at some stage I will be able to do something similar.”
Lewis has always derived inspiration from the legendary Williams sisters. Moreover, the respect is mutual as Serena once revealed how much she admires Hamilton.
