Red Bull signed a long-term deal with Puma back in 2015, that came into effect starting January 1, 2016. It seems like that deal has come to an end as the Austrian team has signed with Castore, the brand that has tennis star Andy Murray among the investors. There is one big disadvantage to it, though. The brand does not have any stores in Mexico, the home country of Red Bull’s driver Sergio Perez.

Before Murray became a shareholder in the $925 million apparel company (as per Manchester Evening News), he praised the quality of their products. As the Briton was contemplating retiring in January 2019, owing to long-term hip issues, he even expressed his desire to have Castore as the last brand he wore playing. Just a couple of months after that, Andy invested in the company and became one of its high-profile shareholders.

As Red Bull announced the partnership with the sports clothing brand, team boss Christian Horner said, I’m excited that we are partnering with Castore as their expertise in sports science, materials and engineering will help us to meet that goal. I’m also really pleased that we’ll be able to bring that level of performance to fans.”

While the brand does not have any physical stores in Mexico, they have the perfect solution to tackle the problem. Mexican F1 fans will be able to access all their merchandise through an online store, Bolavip.com reported.

What Andy Murray and Castore co-founder said about the start of their partnership

Castore is a relatively newer brand and has seen great success in a short span of time. They have quite a list of athletes and teams they officially are partners with. From Newcastle United in soccer and English Cricket Team to McLaren and Red Bull in F1, they’ve got it all. The investment from Andy came back in March 2019, though.

Fashion United quoted him as releasing a statement that went, “Castore is a young, exciting brand that offers something different, with products that are really well cut and designed. For me it was a natural progression from previous kit partners. They’re the best I have tried and trained in.”

The brand’s co-founder, Tom Beahon, had some kind words for Murray as well. He said, “We are incredibly excited to be partnering with an athlete of Andy’s caliber whose drive, commitment and competitive spirit have transcended tennis and inspired a generation of future British athletes. Andy embodies the Castore ethos of Better Never Stops, we immediately shared a joint vision on how to move the brand forward.”
