After a thrilling Brazilian Grand Prix weekend, the F1 calendar moves onto the penultimate race of the 2023 season, the Las Vegas GP. Many assumed that with F1 returning to Vegas after a long time, excitement would be much higher. However, with an unorthodox track, last-minute competition, and more, F1’s recent Las Vegas Grand Prix reveal did not go down well with the fans.

The upcoming Las Vegas Grand Prix will present a newly built ‘street circuit’ that passes through the iconic locations in Las Vegas. While the race is set to be a thrilling experience for the fans, it has received quite negative feedback, especially from hardcore F1 fans.

As if facing frustrated locals wasn’t enough of a problem for F1 and its owners. The high ticket prices that they have ultimately struggled to sell, last-minute construction finish, and the newly built circuit not being a true ‘racing rack’, fans online have not shied away from showing their dissatisfaction with this. And this was evident in F1’s recent social media post.

The Las Vegas Grand Prix reveal brutally trashed by the fans online

Just a few hours ago, the fully built F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix circuit was finally revealed to the fans. However, with F1 fans being as passionate as ever, they did not shy away from completely trashing the revealing. Considering that even Max Verstappen bluntly stated that the primary purpose of the Las Vegas GP is to make F1 more famous in the US.

Perhaps the frustration of the fans reached new heights upon seeing how last-minute the circuit had been completed. Especially because not many are looking forward to it, and would rather see other historic circuits.

“Good. Now tear it down & get outta town..” – This comment is clearly from a fan who is not happy that F1 is back in Las Vegas. Perhaps the traffic jams which occurred due to the circuit construction are the cause.

“I’m so sorry but the fact you only just finished the pit building a week before cars are on track is terrible.” While many things should be taken into consideration, the comment does put forward quite an interesting point. The completion of the pit building is rather abnormal, considering the Grand Prix is just days away. Can you imagine if they had expedited the process by skipping the finishing touches? Imagine the fans’ reactions then!

“As a life-long F1 fan….I have absolutely no interest in this race:” – This comment perhaps resonates well with a lot of fans. Moreover, with Max Verstappen most likely to win, excitement might be low. Especially given the track layout.

“I think this race will be under prepared. It seems many things are getting rushed and getting done last minute.” – This fan wouldn’t be entirely wrong to have this assumption. There’s a decent possibility of this being true. If that ends up being the case, boy oh boy, will the fans be harsh with F1, given the high ticket prices.

“Can’t believe that Las Vegas signed up for 10 years of this nonsense before going through it at least once” – Well, when you consider the amount of money on offer, and the future, it all might make sense.

“So looking forward to this when first announced. But seeing how money grubbing F1 is very disappointing. High prices, no casual watching…cutting beautiful trees down…. Just disappointed.” – As true as this comment really is, unfortunately, in the world of business, money talks. When that happens, criteria like high ticket prices, cutting down of trees, etc are simply secondary.

“Can’t wait for @f1lasvegas @f1 to leave Vegas” – The Las Vegas Grand Prix weekend hasn’t even started and this fan is already looking forward to F1 leaving Las Vegas for good. Unfortunately for this fan, there are 10 more years of this!
