It seems every week Max Verstappen touches new heights. The Dutchman is unstoppable at the moment, especially in the current campaign. After his record-breaking 15-race wins a season last year, most would have forgiven him for cooling his jets. However, as things stand, he’s on his way to eclipsing his previous season’s record. However, it’s us, the fans, who worry about records and not the Dutchman, or so we thought. The Dutchman has showcased his nonchalance towards records. However, Red Bull‘s Helmut Marko confession unmakes Verstappen’s hypocrisy.

For those who don’t know, Verstappen is eager to take on endurance racing, which he does so virtually at the moment. Although he plans to do so after leaving the circus, the Dutchman could’ve gotten a taste as early as September in the 12 Hours of the Nürburgring. However, the Dutchman was strictly prohibited to represent Red Bull Racing in the series. The man who denied him the opportunity, Helmut Marko, gave a reason to Auto Motor und Sport reporter Tobi Gruner, that exposed his hypocrisy.

“We all know Max [Verstappen]. First, he would have checked what the record was. Of course, he wouldn’t want to beat that just by a second. Those cars aren’t suited for chasing records. It’s too dangerous,” said Marko.
