The Green Red Bull allegations against the Aston Martin team began last year. The shiny green team brought upgrades, and the cars got faster but more than that they began looking like the team, which was topping the charts in the championship tally. However, the actual hell broke loose when Fernando Alonso put his Aston on the podium with two Red Bulls a week ago. The jibes from Milton Keynes haven’t stopped since then and the latest one to chime in is the Red Bull consultant Helmut Marko.
The team which finished seventh last year made an improvement of 2.4 seconds. The authentic example of the progressive performance convergence rule is the Silverstone-based team. The team which didn’t even claim the midfield is now competing with the top runner and that, added to Fernando Alonso’s talent, is sure to make this season an exciting one. However, with this massive improvement, the team that lost their aero chief and few other engineers to Lawrence Stroll-owned outfit feels a bit stunned. A few from the camp have even gone ahead to take a dig at the latter.
However, in the most recent occurrence, Red Bull Consultant Helmut Marko has clarified that it was all humorous banter. As quoted by Marca.com, He told Formel1.de when asked if Red Bull would take a step against the ‘copied’ Astons, he stated, “No, in no way. And it’s not intended to be an accusation either.”

But in a cheeky detour from clarification, he said, “They are only comments in a joking tone. If you look at the grid, the Aston Martin is the car most similar to Red Bull.”
It wasn’t too long ago that the longest-serving TP in F1 and Red Bull Boss Christian Horner made a jab toward the Aston Martin.

In the post-race interview after the Bahrain Grand Prix, Sergio Perez started with open cheeky banter saying it’s nice to see three Red Bulls on the podium. And the F1 world hasn’t been calm since then, with memes to even the Red Bull TP chiming in to agree with the statement and be nonchalant about the loss of Dan Fallows to their 2023 rivals.
Motorsport.com asked Christian Horner if he is regretting letting Dan Fallows leave, to which he replied “Everything has to evolve, nothing stands still. I think it is flattering to see the resemblance of that car to ours, so it was great to see the three of them on the podium.”
