Helmut Marko was recently shut down for taking credit for informing Niki Lauda about Lewis Hamilton’s availability. The taskmaster is portrayed as if he’s the reason why Hamilton joined Mercedes. Marko is now back with another bold claim, this time about Max Verstappen. However, the result is the same as the fans bash him over the unrealistic claims. Let’s see how things panned out.

Max Verstappen’s dominance this season has been unparalleled. There’s a very good chance that Verstappen will run away with all remaining races. Even Toto Wolff and Frederic Vasseur have praised Max Verstappen and Red Bull for the kind of performances that they’ve been putting up. While many may suggest that it’s all because of the car, we’ve seen the other Red Bull driver, Sergio Perez struggling in the RB19.

It is as much about Max Verstappen’s talent as it is about the RB19’s performance. However, Helmut Marko, who’s known for making bold statements that aren’t always realistic, has now made another bold Max Verstappen claim. Marko advised that the Dutchamn can take pole position in a Haas or AlphaTauri in Wet or transitioning conditions. According to Motorsport-Total.com, Helmut Marko said “If such conditions exist, he puts an AlphaTauri or Haas – which is a qualifying car – on Pole.”

Fans took to Twitter as they expressed their rage at Helmut Marko as the Red Bull taskmaster faced scathing backlash for his claims. Many fans asked to swap Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen for the last race if what Marko is implying is true. Some fans suggested that they cannot wait for Marko to stop making these claims. Then there were those who advised that they were tired of the words coming out of Marko’s mouth. 

Someone suggested that Max Verstappen isn’t the best driver on the grid and that for Helmut Marko, Verstappen is the best in everything.
