The feud between Mercedes and Red Bull advances not only on the track but also off it. Recently, George Russell made a contentious remark about the Austrian outfit’s top-secret speed after witnessing Red Bull’s blistering pace at the Australian GP. However, now the Red Bull team boss, Christian Horner, responded with a wry comment.
At the Australian Grand Prix, Red Bull secured its third triumph of the year. Every F1 fan has been astounded by the RB19’s incredible speed up to this point, and Max Verstappen‘s off-balance incident that caused him off the track while cutting grass serves as proof of the deadly speed as he nearly instantly made up the time he lost. This brutal speed prompted Mercedes’s George Russell to make serious accusations against Milton Keynes.
Observing the sheer pace of the RB19, at the Melbourne track, Russell reckoned, “For sure they are holding back. I think they are almost embarrassed to show their full potential because the faster they seem, the more that the sport is going to try and hold them back somehow.” In response to Russell’s accusation, Horner has now made a cunning statement.

🗣️ | 🇦🇺 Christian Horner on George Russell's suggestion that Red Bull are not unleashing their full pace out of fear of the sport potentially trying to hold them back:
"That’s very generous of him. He’d know too well from his team about those kinds of advantages." pic.twitter.com/mJRDK4Sgds

After the race, Horner teased Mercedes’ reign of dominance in Formula One from 2014 until 2020. The Red Bull TP said, “That’s very generous of him. He’d know too well from his team about those kinds of advantages. There’s always an element of management that goes on in any race. Because it was a one-stop race and a very early one-stop race, of course there was an element of tyre management going on.”
Red Bull and Formula 1 fans have taken to Twitter in response to his clever statement to attack Mercedes.
Twitter goes crazy at Christian Horner’s snarky response to George Russell’s comments
Max Verstappen lagged behind Russell and Lewis Hamilton during the initial lap. Nonetheless, the Dutchman immediately recovered from a poor start to win the 37th race of his career. However, we also saw a resurgent Mercedes, which is prepared to mount a spirited battle against the Milton Keynes team, but is failing in the face of Red Bull’s dominance.
And yet, following Russell’s claims, the audience is now cheering Horner for his sarcastic reply. Given below are some of the reactions.

It was noted by fans that Russell always has something to whine about.

Considering that Mercedes has demonstrated some potential at Albert Park, will there be greater competition between the two sporting titans, or will Red Bull be successful in widening the gap a little further?
