The first three races of the 2023 season have made a lot of things clear. Firstly, Red Bull are a class apart, and their dominant streak is expected to go from strength to strength this year. Next, Aston Martin have made the single biggest step up and are now a proper top 3 contender. However, in all of this, Ferrari have been termed the biggest losers. In the past, when they had a reliable car, it wasn’t fast. When they had a fast car, it wasn’t reliable. Now, in 2023, they have neither a reliable car nor a fast one. As a result, Max Verstappen is dominating away.

Naturally, the heat is squarely on the Scuderia. That being said, in a possible attempt to divert negative attention, Ferrari’s newest boss, Frederic Vasseur, tried to launch a counter on Red Bull instead. But safe to say, it may have massively backfired.

Sky Sports F1 quoted the Frenchman as saying, “I’m still convinced that the penalty was very light.”  He then went on to explain his stance. But in the aftermath of these comments about the Milton-Keynes-based outfit, the Tifosi seemed to have turned on him instead.

Fans react as Frederic Vasseur re-hashes Max Verstappen & Red Bull accusations

For many, they just want to be done with the whole cost-cap saga. That being said, as soon as Vasseur’s comments went viral, fans rushed to the social networking platform, Twitter, to share their reactions.

One fan even commented, “Also shows that Ferrari’s car is shit, mate. Stop chatting and get to work.”

Let’s take a look at just a few of the fan reactions from Vasseur’s failed Red Bull jab.

The Red Bull comments aside, fans were really not happy with the French team principal. In their eyes, Vasseur was trying to conveniently shift the conversation away from Ferrari. Even if the cost cap is to be ignored, the Scuderia are far from where they want to be. And challenging Red Bull, with or without the penalty, is simply out of the question as things stand.
