Ever since the summer break, Carlos Sainz has become a different person. The Spaniard has been more dominating, he’s been more aggressive, and more importantly, he’s been more demanding. The new Sainz wants more out of himself and his team and he is not afraid to ask. We can make that assessment because the Spaniard off-late has not been shy about expressing his honest opinions as well. In fact, after the Japanese GP, the Ferrari man made another admission which is commanding to say the least.

Carlos has been adamant about his lack of compatibility with the SF-23. The Spaniard has won a race in the car but still feels there are lingering issues with the Ferrari challenger. So speaking about the future, Sainz made an honest admission about the car of the now and demanded better from the car of the future.

“For sure there are some things on set up that could be implemented into next year’s car,” said Sainz. “But I am hoping that next year’s car has completely different characteristics than this one and it’s a bit of a new start.”

He then addressed the elephant in the room and said, “This year’s car has given us a few headaches here and there. The car can be very quick on one lap, but in the race, our degradation still has its weaknesses that we need to address.”

Sainz is demanding a clean slate and a more complete car from Ferrari for 2024. This is a side of him we are seeing after the summer break. Perhaps heading into the last contractual year with Ferrari has sparked some desire for more? Well this aggression on and off the track, according to Peter Windsor, can be credited to his father.

The former Ferrari boss pointed out Sainz’s changed and more aggressive attitude since the summer break. The Spaniard has always been quite kind but something has flipped within him, more so after his second race win. However, according to Peter Windsor, it’s nothing new. The Brit believes the aggression within Sainz has just been dormant and it was always there thanks to his father. In fact, the deadly combination of aggression and calm is all down to Carlos Sainz Sr. according to Windsor.

Windsor said, “Senior is, he is the ultimate competitor, isn’t he? He’s super aggressive but at the same time he’s got this maturity and this ability to think of the last lap on the first lap.”

If Sainz Sr.’s public declaration of war toward Ferrari wasn’t evidence enough, Windsor’s statement should put a stamp on his aggressive nature. However, this ability to switch it on and off on cue is what makes the Sainz’s such fierce competitors.
