Statistically, Ferrari is the most successful Formula 1 team to have ever existed. Along the way, the Italian squad has had some significant drivers race for them. The most successful out of that list is surely the legendary Michael Schumacher, who has won five championships with the squad. Numerous drivers have since joined the team in his place, but only Kimi Raikkonen was able to claim a championship (2007). Fast forward to today. Charles Leclerc has been Ferrari’s ray of hope for some time now. Although he hasn’t been able to win the title up to this point, it seems like the stars have aligned this year, and he has been predicted to win.
Since joining Ferrari in 2019, Charles Leclerc has impressed both the team’s supporters and fellow drivers with his blistering pace. And despite him being at his best the last year, Ferrari’s numerous problems prevented him from winning the championship. But today, the team treated the golden boy to an experience before the Ferrari car launch. They have him the opportunity to ride in a championship-winning vehicle driven by the legendary Michael Schumacher in 2003.

Leclerc just shared a story on Instagram showing his team repairing the F2003. When he turned his phone toward the track from the garage, the iconic red automobile with the lovely sound on the main highway could be heard. In the Insta story, he wrote, “Should be a fun afternoon.”
Fans were really happy to see this. And they didn’t fail to point out how this could be THE year for Leclerc in Ferrari. You see, Michael Schumacher, whose car the Monegasque got to drive, joined the Reds in 1996 and won his first title with them in his fifth year (2000). With 2023 being Leclerc’s fifth year in Ferrari, the Tifosi surely have their hopes up.
All the Schumacher and Ferrari supporters flooded social media as soon as Leclerc shared the story on Instagram.
F1 Twitter went bonkers after Charles Leclerc posted the iconic red vehicle on his Instagram
During the Schumacher-Ferrari period, the Ferrari F2003 was among the most popular vehicles. Compared to earlier models, the automobile featured a larger wheelbase, which gave it more varied opportunities to utilize aerodynamics. While some fans expressed their pleasure that Leclerc had the opportunity to drive the legendary vehicle, others raised their own concerns, as Leclerc doesn’t have the best record with old and iconic cars.
Michael won his 1st title with Ferrari in his 5th year with the team.
