Filling the shoes of stars like Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman, who were previously contracted to portray Enzo Ferrari, Adam Driver sets a bold look to the Italian race-carmaker.
This is not the first time Adam Driver has portrayed an Italian entrepreneur. In 2021, Adam Driver also played the role of Maurizio Gucci in Ridley Scott’s House of Gucci.

However, this time Adam Driver is embodying a man who is a couple of decades older than him. And yet, he carries the persona surprisingly well.
What we know about the upcoming Ferrari biopic
The film will focus on Enzo Ferrari’s life from the summer of 1957. Narrating the events surrounding Ferrari’s bankruptcy and failing marriage, it will spiral toward the iconic 1957 Mille Miglia.
It is an incredibly well-crafted move to center the film around a particular era of Enzo Ferrari’s life, rather than a sweeping take on his entire legacy. Michael Mann has proudly announced the start of production on Twitter with a behind-the-scenes image.

Scripted by Troy Kennedy Martin, the new film is based on a book by Brock Yates entitled Enzo Ferrari – The Man and the Machine.
“The most thrilling part of this experience,” said Mann of his newest project, “is working with dedicated and passionate artists, Adam Driver, Penelope Cruz and Shailene Woodley, as well as with an extraordinary supporting cast of Jack O’Connell, Patrick Dempsey, Sarah Gadon, Gabriel Leone and more in these highly dramatic roles.”
