One would not be able to count on their finger the times that Max Verstappen has disobeyed team orders or persuaded the team to do what he thinks is right. Nonetheless, the Former Ferrari boss has now highlighted some relevant data from the Belgian GP which dismisses Max Verstappen’s “Spoiled, Entitled Brat” image. What did the Ex Ferrari boss say?

Max Verstappen isn’t any regular F1 driver. Along with his excellency, success, and dominance comes an aggressive side as well, which many consider to be similar to that of a brat. The Grand Tour show presenter Jeremy Clarkson labeled Max Verstappen as a spoiled, entitled brat as he pointed out his Shenanigans from Brazil 2023 where he refused to let Sergio Perez pass even after being asked by the team.

Nonetheless, Former Ferrari boss, Peter Windsor, puts that image of Max Verstappen to bed as he gives a relevant example from the Belgium GP. Max Verstappen on the 1st lap of his last set of tires set the fastest lap. That led to Verstappen’s race engineer coming on the radio and asking Verstappen to save tires.

According to Peter Windsor’s YouTube video, he said, “Max’s first lap on that new set of soft in the last phase of the race, he hadn’t lost the lead in getting them. He’d been leading the race by 9.7 seconds on that stage. Max then set the fastest lap, a 48.9. At that point, GP got on the radio and said ‘Max use your brain, we had deg on the soft in the first phase of the race. You’ve got to look after the tires. And Max did. He responded to that by consistently going a tenth, two tenths slower than Perez, Leclerc, and Lewis through sectors 1 & 3.”

Max Verstappen listened to his team this time around. Peter Windsor presented this data and put Max Verstappen’s “Spoiled, entitled brat” image. However, Verstappen did have a fierce moment with his race engineers on the previous day during the Sprint Qualifying.

Max Verstappen called Gianpiero Lambiase out for a bad execution

In the ever-changing conditions from wet tires to slicks, Max Verstappen barely made it through to SQ3. The 25-year-old finished SQ2 in P10. Max Verstappen was furious with the execution of the final run in SQ2 as he called GP out for a “sh*t execution”. GP isn’t one who backs off and hit Verstappen with a jab as well.
