2021 was one of the greatest seasons in the history of Formula 1. Mercedes and Red Bull were on par in terms of performance, and it was Max Verstappen who made all the difference to beat 7x Champion Lewis Hamilton to get his hands on his maiden F1 title. But as soon as the curtains were drawn on this historic victory, it was time for the people to react. You’d think everyone inside the Red Bull camp would be showering praise on the Dutch lion, Verstappen. However, for one Red Bull sympathizer, the victory was down to someone else completely!

Post-race, Sky Sports was interviewing Christian Horner’s wife, and Spice Girl, Geri Halliwell.
She began, “I’m proud of the whole team, [and] Max. I mean, it is testimony to what a great team they are. Great strategy, Max is brilliant, Sergio Perez was amazing.” But for her, only one man deserved the credit.
“And of course I think they have got the best Team Principal.”
Seeing Max dominate the entire grid in his Red Bull, one might feel that the team and the driver are perfect for each other and the dynamic should stay like this for as long as possible. But as it stands, this last Red Bull deal could be the final time he puts pen to paper to drive in F1.

Max Verstappen is undoubtedly at the peak of his racing career. And if his performance in 2022 is anything to go by, he could arguably challenge the likes of Lewis Hamilton in terms of equaling or even beating his records. But will Verstappen stick around F1 for that long?
While speaking to the media about his future in F1, he said, “I know my contract is of course until 2028. I’ll be 31 at that time. I’m probably still going to be competitive for a few more years. But in those years, I also probably want to experience other things and just have a bit more fun, with less of a schedule.”
