Heading into the British GP, the home GP for Lewis Hamilton, the Brit had high expectations. After all, Hamilton is a record seven-time winner on his favorite track. However, after the first two practice sessions, the expectations have not only deflated but the complete outlook has changed. Hamilton is back criticizing the state of the W14 as a new front proved to be the problem more than the solution. However, despite the ongoing tussle and possible fallout with boss Toto Wolff, Hamilton tried to look at the bright side.

Despite multiple incidents and Hamilton’s comments proving otherwise, Toto Wolff has made a lot of efforts to cover up any shortcomings of the W14. However, you can’t hide the truth, and every track exposes a new weakness of the flawed Mercedes challenger. Sadly, for Hamilton, Silverstone did the same. He communicated his discontentment to the media, as quoted by Speedweek, but also kept a positive outlook.

“The car is difficult to drive,” sighed the Briton. “It doesn’t matter how we set it up, it’s always tricky. On a fast lap, I don’t feel any difference between the different tire compounds. It shows that something is wrong,” Hamilton is convinced. However, he consoled himself and tried to look at the bring side. He concluded, “At least we don’t seem to be doing so badly in racing trim. At least that’s positive.”
