From the outside looking in, the life of a Formula 1 driver is a bed full of roses. The pilots get to travel the world, do things they love the most for a living, and make a killing whilst doing it. However, there is no such thing as a free lunch. This stands true for Formula 1 drivers as well, and Max Verstappen proved that with his recent revelation.

It might look all hunky dory in the forefront. However, the Red Bull world champion discussed the hardships he faces as an F1 driver. Verstappen revealed how he struggles with one aspect of being a driver whilst it’s easier for his compatriots. He talked about this difficult aspect during his conversation with ViaPlay, as reported by Motorsport Nextgen.

Verstappen talked about the physical and nutritional aspects of being a Formula 1 driver. Verstappen, unlike Nyck de Vries and Alex Albon, does not struggle with the physical aspect. However, Verstappen always has trouble maintaining his weight at 158 lbs.

“Everybody’s body type is different,” said Verstappen. “I know I talk a lot with Nyck that he has to train a lot to keep his muscles. It’s the same with Alex. For me, it’s the opposite. I don’t lose a lot of muscle and I never really have a problem with it. Driving a car, but I find it harder to keep my weight to the limit.” (Translated by Google)

“Some are lucky, some can eat whatever they want,” he concluded.
