Lewis Hamilton has not been making headlines in Formula 1 courtesy of his race wins recently because the last time he stood on the top step of a podium was in 2021. But he sure is making headlines and taking the F1 community by storm courtesy of his relationship status and dating life. He first stirred the rumor pot at the Miami GP this year when Colombian popstar Shakira came to cheer him on and followed it up with an appearance at the Spanish GP. Their dating rumors have stuck the longest and are still going strong. But who are the other supposed flames that have come into the picture?

When the Shakira rumors started dying a little, Hamilton was speculated to be interested in Brazilian model Juliana Nalu who he met in Antarctica earlier this year. And about a week ago, he allegedly slipped into the DMs of Instagram model Celeste Bright. But through all this, fans haven’t wavered from their firm belief that Shakira and Lewis are dating. But there might be yet someone new Shakira might be wary of.

Russian model Viktoria Odintcova and Lewis Hamilton met shortly after the seven-time champion and his long-term girlfriend, Nicole Scherzinger, broke up in 2015. In a 2020 interview with RT, the model revealed that the pair met in Barcelona in 2016 and have been on good terms since. But did their friendship develop into something more in subsequent times?

According to the Brazilian, “We had different types of relationship. At a certain period of time, it was romantic. He was courting me. But then, this relationship evolved into friendship. Now we’re friends, we just write to each other and call sometimes. He’s in the friend zone.” She explained how her living in Russia and his traveling around the world wouldn’t have suited either of them, and they quickly realized they were better off as friends.

A year or so after their friendship blossomed, according to The Sun, Odintcova revealed in 2017 that Portuguese soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo tried getting in touch with her (before his relationship with Georgina Rodriguez), but she ghosted him, not wanting to get involved with soccer players, especially when she said, “I often receive messages from professional athletes, especially from European footballers. I don’t even open them.”

While she avoids soccer players, she has maintained good relations with Hamilton and makes it a point to attend races whenever possible. This year, she attended the Azerbaijan GP to cheer for her British friend. Now that it’s established that Viktoria and Lewis are nothing more than friends, Shakira has nothing to worry about (if she ever had anything to worry about, to begin with). And she, too, makes it a point to support Lewis whenever she can, as she did at the driver’s home race.

The last time Shakira attended a race was at the Spanish GP. Lewis Hamilton finished second that day. And last night, she attended the British GP, Lewis’ home race. And guess what? He finished third and was on the podium again! See the common link between the two weekends? Well, it’s Shakira. Could the pop star be a lucky charm for the driver?

Speculations aside, seeing Shakira at Silverstone lit up the paddock and the rumor mill again, and Lewis and Shakira’s shippers are all for it. Rumor has it that the two are going on a vacation to the Caribbean together during the summer break. And as much as F1 fans miss racing in that month or so, they’ll sure be excited to see what Lewis and Shakira would be up to.
