Charles Leclerc finished the 2022 season in second place behind Max Verstappen in the driver’s championship. He held off a late challenge from Verstappen’s teammate, Sergio Perez, in the final race of the season. In a season combined with bad luck and poor strategic calls, a P2 finish might give Leclerc some hope for the next season.

In an astonishing fact about this season, Charles Leclerc scored more poles (9) than Max Verstappen (7) this year. However, it’s just been that kind of a season for Leclerc. Moreover, his bad luck wasn’t just restricted to F1. The Leclerc bad omen had spread to a whole different sport.

Fans on Twitter spotted Leclerc’s curse on soccer teams and labeled him a bad juju. The pattern started when Mexico was eliminated from the group stages of the Soccer World Cup for the first time in 44 years. Soon after, Leclerc’s picture donning a Mexican t-shirt surfaced on the internet.

It doesn’t end there though. He was later blamed for the elimination of Brazil and Portugal from the World Cup. Again, Leclerc sporting a Brazilian jersey and his picture of sharing the pitch with Cristiano Ronaldo went viral on the internet. It was perhaps the Soccer legend’s last dance on the highest international stage.

Subsequently, fans of the remaining 4 teams in the semis of the World Cup started to plead to Leclerc not to wear their national team’s jersey.

F1 Twitter goes berserk as fans blame cursed Charles Leclerc for bad omen

It is better if Charles Leclerc does not open Twitter for a few days. The Monegasque has been on the receiving end of hilarious trolls after being blamed for the exit of Brazil, Mexico, and Portugal.

Moreover, Argentina fans “begged” Leclerc to stay away from the Argentina jersey. The South American nation takes on Croatia in the first semi-finals.

Some fans compared his juju to having the same effect as Lewis Hamilton when he posts about F1 teams on his Instagram stories. Subsequently, a Moroccan fan also wished Leclerc would stay away from their jersey.

Meanwhile, some fans trolled the Ferrari driver by asking Leclerc to be studied. Another fan commented, “Everything he touches, fails”.
