F1 is the fastest-growing sport in the world. The docuseries Drive to Survive is amongst the fan favorites as it shows the dramatic side of F1. Despite this, Vinicius Jr snubbed F1 for two reasons while also showing his love for Lewis Hamilton. The 7x World champion stood up for Vinicius Jr. a couple of weeks ago. What were the two reasons? What did the Brazilian Star actually say?

Racial discrimination is destroying the beautiful game of football as we know it. Vinicius Jr. faced racial abuse a couple of months ago during Real Madrid’s game against Valencia. As the Brazilian football star launched an attack on the Spanish league asking for the racism to end, the 7X F1 champ took a stand for Vinicius Jr. Lewis Hamilton posted a three-word message on his Instagram story with a picture of Vinicius Jr. The caption was “Standing with you”

Lewis Hamilton has always stood up against all the social evils and used his reach and platform to send the message across. Vinicius Jr was recently asked if he likes Formula 1. Vinicius Jr suggested that he watches F1 only because of Lewis Hamilton. According to a video uploaded by @dearlews, when asked the question, Vinicius Jr said “It takes a long time and not much happens but I like Hamilton so much so sometimes I watch it”. The Brazilian snubbed F1 for taking a long time and not being action-packed.

It isn’t only Vinicius Jr who supports Lewis Hamilton. The Brazilian’s former teammate Gareth Bale also supported Lewis Hamilton after what happened in 2021 as the Football star reveals the reason why he quit watching F1.

What happened between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen during the 2021 championship final in Abu Dhabi wasn’t fair according to Gareth Bale. Letting the lapped cars in between through wasn’t the right decision. The Former Real Madrid star questioned how the governing body of F1 let it happen. Bale insisted that he doesn’t watch F1 anymore because of what happened in Abu Dhabi. 

According to News18.com, Gareth Bale on the Random Golf Club when asked about his interest in F1 said “I don’t after what happened to Hamilton a few years ago. It was not fair. The fact he had to go through all the traffic and couldn’t a pit stop. Like how they let it happen…as soon as he was let through and he was full of petrol it was never a race,”
