Another week and we have another soccer star grace F1 with their presence. However, unlike most, Chelsea FC’s Mason Mount is a repeat customer to the temple of thrill. The British soccer star practicing his trade in the English Premier League is an avid Formula 1 fan as well. He revealed that with his visit to the track back in June 2022, as well. Mount visited the Silverstone track to catch the F1 action. At Silverstone, the British international, unlike many, snubbed Lewis Hamilton to pledge his loyalties rival to Max Verstappen and Red Bull. One year on, we have Mount back on track and extending his relationship with Red Bull with a unique opportunity.
The unique opportunity Mount received was through an incredible gesture from the sport. As we all know, the British soccer star presented the Pirelli Pole Position award to Verstappen. However, what we did not see was Mount’s reaction when he was informed of his duties.
As seen on Mount’s Instagram story, the Britisher is sitting in what seems to be the paddock club. In the short clip, we can see Mount intently listening to a lady. Soon after she is done speaking, we can see Mount utter the words, “I’m Buzzing, yeah I’m buzzing” in excitement.

The Brit is friends with fellow countryman and McLaren’s Lando Norris. However, when it comes to the on-track action, Mount backs one particular Dutchman, and he got to present him with an award too now. Now, stepping away from this conversation, let’s look at what Mount had to say back in 2022.

In 2022, the world was under Verstappen’s feet. The Dutchman cruised to his second championship, much like how he is doing now, with a few races to spare. Even though Verstappen won most of the races in 2022, he did suffer some setbacks during the season. One such upsetting result came in Silverstone, a race that Mount was also witnessing. Despite the poor result for RBR and their Dutch champion, Mount only had positive things to say.
“I’ve been with Red Bull the last few times. I went to a race so I’ve been supporting them and they’ve been doing very well recently, so hopefully that continues,” said Mount.
