With Manchester City star Micah Hamilton being the sports headline from yesterday, there’s definitely got to be a connection to the 7x F1 champ Lewis Hamilton, right? Let’s see. 

Micah Phillipe Jude Hamilton became a Manchester City star overnight as he debuted for his club. Micah joined Manchester City’s academy when he was nine, rose through the ranks, and won his first cap yesterday night in the UEFA Champions League match against Serbian Team Crvena Zvezda. What’s even more impressive is that Micah scored the opening goal of the game just 19 minutes in. The game ended 3-2 with City taking the win.

Now, coming back to the all-important question, are Lewis Hamilton and Micah Hamilton related? While both share the same last name and operate at the highest level of their respective sports, they are not siblings or related in any other way. Micah Hamilton was born on the 13th of November, 2003 in Manchester. Micah is an England Youth International and prefers playing as an attacking midfielder or a winger.

Micah Hamilton’s debut for Manchester City against Red Star Belgrade

Micah Hamilton was awarded the opportunity to start for Manchester City by Pep Guardiola in the UEFA Champions League match against Red Star Belgrade. The debut began well for Micah Hamilton as he scored the opening goal of the match after dribbling past a couple of opposition players and rocketing the ball into the roof of the net. After an impressive performance, Hamilton ended the night by winning a penalty for his team in the 84th minute.

Talking about his Debut and scoring a goal, Micah Hamilton said, “I saw it as a challenge as I’d not really played on the right before, and I enjoyed every moment. It’s definitely just the start and I want to kick on from here. It’s surreal and I’m still taking it in. I was delighted to score on my debut but it still hasn’t sunk in.”
