During his time with McLaren in the late 80s, the British team partnered with Honda as their engine supplier. As a result of the partnership, Ayrton Senna helped with the development of a road-going Honda supercar. Honda Started the project with the aim of producing an everyday reliable supercar that was easier to live with and compete against the Ferrari 328. Once the prototype was ready, Senna helped with the fine-tuning and handling of the car.
The car was named the Honda NS-X. NS-X stood for New Sports Experimental. The car had the looks and performance to beat a Ferrari while still maintaining the Honda’s reliability and ease to drive.
