Does Lewis Hamilton's support for Harry Kane show the true spirit of sportsmanship in tough times?

Yet another disappointing end for England! After losing to Italy in a fierce battle four years back, the Three Lions lost yet another Euro final yesterday, however, this time fairly comprehensively. Gareth Southgate‘s boys didn’t have a good time in the final as Spain dominated the possession for most parts of the game. The Fans are divided at the end of the tournament with some criticizing the team, and others appreciating their ‘do-or-die’ mentality. One such well-wisher is the F1 icon, Lewis Hamilton.

Although heartbroken, the English team has surely returned from the tournament with some positive takeaways. Players like Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice showed their prowess, while the captain Harry Kane, reportedly, chose to play the final match with an injury. England’s efforts have not gone unnoticed. And despite the loss, fans are supporting their efforts.

Lewis Hamilton attempted to console Harry Kane’s squad. With a comment below an Instagram post of the England national soccer team’s official handle, the 7x champ expressed his solidarity. Lewis wrote: “So proud of you all, never gave up and that’s what matters👏🏾”

England has been one of the most consistent sides in the last two Euros, but unfortunately winning the trophy hasn’t been in their destiny. However, with celebrities and fellow athletes standing for the dejected team, it will only boost their morale to come back with more energy and potentially, with a trophy soon.

England hasn’t won a major soccer tournament after winning the 1966 World Cup many decades ago. They must strive for another trophy with an enormous amount of talent at their disposal. That will be the best way to silence critics. Lewis Hamilton’s support towards the team shows his dedication to the country as the 39-year-old has always backed the Three Lions through thick and thin.
