A healthy rivalry seems to be brewing between the worlds of Formula 1 and the beautiful game! Ever since Neymar Jr made an appearance at last weekend’s Monaco GP, Lewis Hamilton, and the PSG star have been going at each other in equal measure. Needless to say, it’s all fun and games between the two stellar athletes. However, with how loyalties lie in sports, safe to say the era of F1 v. Soccer has begun.
Recently, Neymar was spotted in the paddock again. He’s in attendance at the Spanish GP this weekend as a guest of Hamilton and Mercedes. After the hilarious social media exchange that ensued last week, Hamilton took this opportunity to poke some fun at Neymar Jr’s expense. During a courtesy seat fit, Hamilton joked, “Your a** is so big!” after the Brazilian struggled to lower himself into the cockpit. Brownie points for the F1 driver in this friendly battle, right? But his brother, Nicolas Hamilton, chose to defend the 31-year-old forward instead.
Hamilton shared a video of this exchange on his Instagram account. However, instead of siding with the plethora of F1 fans in his brother’s corner, Nicolas Hamilton decided to stay on Neymar’s side! He took to the comments section to write the six worded-response, “He got in like a pro.“
During the Monaco GP weekend, Neymar expressed his affinity towards Red Bull. Then why did the Silver Arrows welcome him with open arms?

During the Monaco GP weekend, the media asked Neymar in attendance about who he was rooting for. Neymar replied, “I love F1 and above all I love [Lewis] Hamilton, who is a great friend of mine. I will support Red Bull and root for my friend.”
