In standing up for social issues like inequality and discrimination, it is hard to stop Lewis Hamilton. And the Briton has shown the same despite the FIA’s latest political statements rule for the drivers. Many are debating on how relevant such a rule is. But Hamilton has carried on his message against discrimination. In his latest Instagram story, the Mercedes driver has put out a message in support of French soccer stars who starred in France’s recent World Cup campaign.

Apparently, French defensive midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni and forward Randal Kolo Muani have turned off comments on their Instagram profiles after some discriminatory comments. Tchouameni and Kolo Muani both played an instrumental part in France’s World Cup campaign. While the team fell short against Argentina in the final, both players performed well.

Although Lewis has not said anything directly about the latest rule on political comments by the FIA, his story says a lot against it. The 7-time champion has been actively raising his voice against inequality for the last few years.

Tchouameni and Kolo Muani both are French-born citizens and have been fantastic young stars for the French national team. As things stand, Tchouameni has enabled comments on recent posts. But Kolo Muani still keeps comments turned off on two of his latest posts.

Hamilton’s story will go a long way as people will question FIA’s latest political gag in this context again. Although, as Lewis has been doing to date, will he try to find a solution peacefully with the FIA?

How has Lewis Hamilton cooperated with several FIA updates despite disagreement?

There have been notable instances when Lewis Hamilton tried to face off with several FIA rules, only to cooperate later. The latest instance happened in 2022 itself when people thought the jewelry ban is a Hamilton-specific rule.

At the Australian GP, the FIA put out this rule that drivers should not wear jewelry or piercings on their bodies when they drive cars. In protest of the same, Hamilton wore a ton of jewelry, in addition to his body piercings in Miami.

However, he later explained how he cannot remove the piercings permanently. So, Lewis was ready to cooperate with the FIA directive, as they have not discussed this rule much since then.

Similarly, back in 2020; the FIA tweaked the post-race and podium procedure rules after the Tuscan GP. As Hamilton had worn a T-shirt in protest of Breonna Taylor’s demise, the FIA updated that drivers cannot wear such unofficial clothing in the parc ferme and on the podium.

Lewis had stated how he would love to find a middle ground with the FIA on the same. Since then, Lewis has consistently cooperated with this rule for the last 2 years.
