The Formula 1 silly season may still be a few months away, but the soccer transfer window is in full swing as we speak. In 2023, we’ve often seen the worlds of racing’s pinnacle and the beautiful game coincide. This time around, on the occasion of the iconic British Grand Prix, we saw it happen one more time as Paulo Dybala made an appearance amid his Chelsea FC rumors.
Argentine footballing sensation, Paulo Dybala has been a hot prospect in the eyes of Chelsea FC fans. Contracted to the Serie A side, Roma, the West London team has been eyeing the 29-year-old for some time now. Dybala’s recent visit to Silverstone has confirmed his presence in the UK, but was it only to felicitate pole-sitter Max Verstappen?

The Argentine has not only been making rounds of the iconic Silverstone circuit. As it turns out, he’s always been in to attend the much-celebrated Wimbledon tournament set to run from the 3rd of July to the 16th of July.

That being said, apart from that, Dybala was in attendance to congratulate the Dutch lion Max Verstappen on registering a whopping fifth-consecutive pole position in 2023. A picture of the duo after Qualifying was circulating Twitter, captioned as, “Max Verstappen with Paulo Dybala, Argentine football player, after qualifying.”

Dybala piques Chelsea FC’s interest

In his prime, Dybala was one of the most sought-after players. And arguably, at the age of just only 29, he still is one of the most highly regarded footballers out there. But there’s an added incentive for Chelsea to bid for his services.
According to Football-Italia.net, “When Dybala signed his three-year contract with Roma last summer, an interesting release clause was included ? ?20m [$21,940,000 approx.] for Serie A teams or ?12m [$13,164,000 approx.] for clubs from abroad, making him an attractive transfer market opportunity.”
