Being the daughter of a 3-time world champion and the girlfriend of double world champion Max Verstappen, Kelly Piquet has surely amassed a great fan following in F1. Moreover, we can not forget about her own modeling ventures that have made her such a popular entity. So it was not a shock when she was elected to be on the cover of Vogue magazine. However, one of her statements from her interview has landed her in controversy among the fans.

She shot for the Dutch edition of Vogue Magazine around the theme ‘woman in motorsport’. There, Kelly talked about how she first met Max Verstappen via her brother, Nelson Piquet Jr. The Brazilian further revealed that they went for a dinner date together in 2015.

“Max was friends with my brother Nelson and we all went out for dinner in Monaco one night. That was six years ago, in 2016. But there was already something magical that evening,” Piquet told Vogue. The Brazilian model further continued, “Our connection started then. And I’ll leave it at that for now.”

She later went on to date Russian driver Daniil Kvyat and even had a daughter with the former Red Bull daughter. After Verstappen replaced the Russian in Red Bull, Kelly parted ways with Kvyat and started dating the Dutchman. Moreover, fans on Twitter also accused Kelly of ‘grooming’ the Dutchman to become her boyfriend.

Kelly Piquet’s latest statement in her interview with Vogue magazine has upset a lot of fans on Twitter. Furthermore, fans called out the Brazilian for allegedly grooming her Dutch boyfriend. Grooming is a slang word used when an individual builds a relationship, trust, and emotional connection with a young person so they can manipulate them.

Subsequently, fans could not believe she admitted to something like this on Vogue.

Moreover, fans felt weird as Kelly failed to realize their 9-year age difference and labeled it “magical”.

Similarly, many fans made fun of and shared memes about Kelly’s statements.

Additionally, one fan called the Brazilian model a “freak”.

Meanwhile, another fan tweeted, “I’m actually so angry about this Kelly Piquet thing.”
