Will the good things be called so if they last forever? After four F1 world titles and seven years together, Lewis Hamilton and Angela Cullen’s partnership has come to an end. The right-hand woman Cullen, who stayed by Hamilton’s side as his physiotherapist, was much more than the one-worded description could encompass. However, at a juncture where the 7x world champion is struggling to finish seventh in races, will the departure of the New Zealander’s departure affect the Mercedes champion? An F1 Pundit weighs in on it.
Former British racing driver and Sky Sports Journalist Martin Brundle feel it could be a colossal blow for the Mercedes driver. While many have taken the 48-year-old’s departure humorously, blaming the “Hamilton Curse” for it, the Sky Commentator is of the opinion that the said dissociation is not great news for the man who is already struggling due to constructive failures of Silver Arrows. However, he goes on to mention that no direct effect will be felt from behind Hamilton’s steering wheel.
As quoted by Express.co.uk, Brundle said, “It’s not great news for Lewis. Whenever you saw Lewis in the paddock or pit lane Angela was with him supporting him. When he was off training, she’d be with him as well. So he’ll have to find someone new, nothing’s forever as we know.”

“I’m sure it won’t detract from his overall performance, but it’s such a treadmill now the Formula One season and Angela wants to go and do something else. She’s got some young children hasn’t she and I can understand being on the road like we are in Formula One is quite the challenge.”
Hamilton, on many occasions, has stated how proud he is to be associated with the only woman physiotherapist on the grid and he didn’t hold back to appreciate and bid farewell to his support system.

While the world knew Angela Cullen as Lewis Hamilton’s physio, she had a plethora of responsibilities in her job description. She looked after Hamilton’s daily routine: personal logistics, diet, sleep patterns, travel arrangements, etc. And handling a champion’s life around the calendar year for such a long time hasn’t gone unnoticed. The F1 champion himself has acknowledged her massive impact on his life in his farewell tribute to her.
On his official Instagram account, Lewis wrote, “For the last seven years, @cullen_angela has been by my side, pushing me to be the best version of myself. I am a stronger athlete and a better person because of her. So today I hope you’ll join me in wishing her the very best as she takes her next steps to pursue her dreams. Thank you for everything Ang, I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for you.”
