Max Verstappen equaled Ayrton Senna’s win record at the Canadian GP and went beyond it after winning the Austrian GP. However, that wasn’t the only record broken at the Austrian GP. An F1 Veteran’s record was broken by Esteban Ocon after the race ended as fans took to Social Media with their sarcastic comments. What was this record and who is this F1 Veteran? Esteban Ocon and Alpine were not able to portray their best-of-the-midfield status at the Austrian GP. The Frenchman started in P12 and finished the race in the same position. Regardless, Ocon ended a lap down on Max Verstappen. The highlight of the Frenchman’s race was probably the penalty that he drew for an unsafe release. However, it was after the race that things got interesting.

Aston Martin protested the result after the race ended. Hence, multiple penalties were handed out to a total of 8 drivers. The penalties were applied for exceeding the track limits. Esteban Ocon was among one of these drivers. The Frenchman was handed a total of 4 driving penalties (Two 5-Sec penalties and Two 10-Sec penalties), demoting him to P14.

Unknowingly and unwillingly, Esteban Ocon ended up breaking the record previously shared by him and Pastor Maldonado. Yes, we’re talking about the most driving penalties in one race. Fans took to social media with their sarcastic comments as they got to know about Ocon’s record.
