Mick Schumacher’s time at Haas got over when the American team decided to replace him with Nico Hulkenberg at the end of the 2022 F1 season. However, with a stroke of luck, the German found himself in Mercedes, but as their reserve driver. Toto Wolff and the eight-time constructors’ champions picked up Schumacher Jr. to bank on his expertise and have him back Lewis Hamilton and George Russell. As the young German gets ready to start his journey with the Silver Arrows, team driver George Russell had some advice for him. When asked about Mick Schumacher in a recently surfaced interview by Auto Motor Und Sport, Russell told, “If I was in Mick’s shoes, I’d work super hard in the simulator here at Brackley, really trying to integrate well into the team. But the simulator is a really important asset for us and we need top quality drivers, driving as often as possible and obviously Mick is one of them.”

“So yeah, he needs to be locking himself in that room and doing the laps,” further stated the former Williams driver. However, the majority of the fans did not like the Brit’s choice of words. But some supported it, which divided the fans in two.

As things stand, George Russell is all set to start his second season with the Silver Arrows after a valiant 2022 campaign where he beat veteran Lewis Hamilton on the same machine. As for Schumacher, he needs to grab as many opportunities as he can at Brackley.
