Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes have almost become synonymous lately. The Briton in the Silver Arrows shirt is a sight one and all can relate to. As much as Mercedes praises its star driver, Hamilton takes pride to drive for one of the best constructors in the world. However, it was not always all good between Hamilton and Mercedes. This is because Hamilton’s latest revelation on his team is something that will infuriate his team principal, Toto Wolff.

As revealed in Netflix’s Drive to Survive season five episode, Hamilton repeated a mistake that Wolff is certainly not going to like. The Silver Arrows ace, who came in for an interview with Netflix, started with, “I’m Lewis Hamilton, and I race for Mercedes Benz.

He immediately resorted to “Oh sh*t, what is it called?” The producer of the show informed him, “Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 team.” After realizing he does the same mistake every time, Hamilton said, “Oh yeah. You’d think I’d know that by now.” To this, the producer again told, “I know. Every year’s the same!”

The 38-year-old driver told the American streaming giants, “After having a difficult year, this year has to be the comeback. I’m trying to take back the championship that was taken from me. You readjust, realign, you accept the reality which you’re faced with, and you get on with the job.”

Unfortunately, the target remained unfulfilled as Mercedes failed to produce a car worthy of dethroning Verstappen from the throne. The W13 was inferior to the RB-18 in terms of pace and cornering. Most importantly, it suffered heavy porpoising throughout the season.
