Daniel Ricciardo, the smiling beast of Formula 1, is always seen joking around, playing with drivers’ names, and saying the most hilarious of things. The man is adored so much that Red Bull took him on as a third driver when they already had Liam Lawson as their reserve. The man who is now back at his old motoring home once dominated the team’s statistics during the on-set of the hybrid era. And while everyone loves the man, even when the Australian isn’t an active driver for 2023, his ex-teammate may have found him a little overbearing.

Ricciardo’s ex-teammate, Daniil Kvyat, arrived at Red Bull to fill in probably the biggest shoes that lay empty. Sebastian Vettel had used his ‘Get-out-clause’ to shift base to his dream team, Ferrari. The next big thing at Red Bull only saw a few summers on the team. And while he was there, he partnered with Formula 1’s darling Daniel Ricciardo. Talking to the hosts of the Track Limits Podcast, Kvyat, made his real feeling known.

Kvyat said, “Impression of him? He was the man at the time. Very funny personality so very attractive for the media. Bit too much for me. We got along well but there was a lot of rivalry between us of course. In the beginning, he was taking things easy, and then once he saw okay that I have a pace, then started also to stay at the motor home just like me. We were both sitting there, engineers were gone already.—- who will go home later. But I rate him very good.”

Daniel Ricciardo says he didn’t want to jump back into any car

One foot in, one foot out. Daniel Ricciardo has taken a year off from Formula 1 and also stayed in the circus by becoming the ambassador for Red Bull. And the 8x GP winner has reiterated the point where he says he wants to be back with a top team. However, clarifying his stance, he said, it is not coming from an arrogant place.

In the Top Gear interview, Ricciardo said, “It’s not coming from an arrogant place. But I’m just past that. I don’t think that’s going to stimulate me or give me that second wind I’m looking for. So it makes the top seats even scarcer. But that’s where I know I will be able to perform at my best and thrive. That’s the sort of stuff I’m keeping my eyes on..”
