After weeks of deliberation, we finally have Red Bull as one of the guilty parties who breached the 2021 budget cap. However, the Milton Keynes-based outfit is in minor infraction of the cap. As we wait for the verdict, some reasons given by Red Bull for overspending are hilarious. To make matter worse, Sergio Perez shared a perfectly timed advert to add to the hilarious aspect of the explanations.

First, let’s talk about one of the reasons Red Bull gave for overshooting the 2021 budget. According to reports, Red Bull’s overspending was between 1-2 million dollars over the $145 million limit. Now, anything under 7.5% comes under the minor overspending category, according to FIA. However, every dollar extra calls for a justification.

The Mexican shared an ad on his social media for a company called Cash App. Cash App is a digital payment and service app. To portray the app’s functionality, they made an ad showcasing a table full of Red Bull men, including Checo, enjoying dinner.

The tweet went out with the caption, “The victory dinner after the victory lap #thatsmoney @CashApp”

The ironic ad posted after Red Bull’s statements and scrutiny of the budget cap gave everyone a good laugh. The Mexican quickly deleted the ironic tweet. However, the internet is always watching and takes no prisoners.
