First, let’s talk about one of the reasons Red Bull gave for overshooting the 2021 budget. According to reports, Red Bull’s overspending was between 1-2 million dollars over the $145 million limit. Now, anything under 7.5% comes under the minor overspending category, according to FIA. However, every dollar extra calls for a justification.
As per reports, Daily free lunch for many of their 1,000 members of staff at their Milton Keynes headquarters is a key contributor to Red Bull’s overspent. This is where Perez’s advert adds a comedic touch to the justification.
The Mexican shared an ad on his social media for a company called Cash App. Cash App is a digital payment and service app. To portray the app’s functionality, they made an ad showcasing a table full of Red Bull men, including Checo, enjoying dinner.
The tweet went out with the caption, “The victory dinner after the victory lap #thatsmoney @CashApp”
The ironic ad posted after Red Bull’s statements and scrutiny of the budget cap gave everyone a good laugh. The Mexican quickly deleted the ironic tweet. However, the internet is always watching and takes no prisoners.
Sergio Perez quickly deletes the tweet but Twitter users already have a copy
Whatever goes on the Internet stays on it forever and that’s exactly the reception Perez’s tweet received. Before the Mexican could delete the scheduled tweet, some users recorded the ad and tweeted it.
