Sergio Perez brought joy to an entire country last weekend. The Mexican driver became the first driver to achieve a podium in the Mexico City Grand Prix. The Red Bull driver finished P3 in the race after challenging Lewis Hamilton for the second sport in the last laps. But his father believes Checo Perez is just getting started.
It was the third podium in a row for Checo Perez in Mexico. His father, Antonio Pérez, mentioned that Checo’s best is yet to come. He claimed Sergio was still not 100 percent in-sync with the car.

The best of Checo Pérez is yet to come: Antonio Perez
As reported by Marçà, the Mexican mentioned Checo is lagging behind both Verstappen and Hamilton in terms of time in the car. He stated that the next season, they all will be on equal footing with new cars and he will be able to compete against them.
“The best of Checo Pérez is yet to come. Checo is not yet one hundred percent in this unit. One important thing to remember: this car is five years old, Max is five years ahead and Hamilton is five years behind advantage sitting in his car,” said Antonio.
“For Checo, it is his first year sitting in this car, but this season is over and this car will no longer exist, because there is a new regulation and a new car, so the three of them and all the other drivers they’re going to start over,” said Perez’s father.

The Mexican makes a bold prediction regarding Sergio Perez
Antonio Perez predicts that the 2022 season would be Checo’s best season in F1. He mentioned that for the first time, Sergio would be developing a race-winning car in his time in F1.

“The best of Checo Pérez is yet to come. Next year is Checo’s best year in his sporting career in Formula 1. A new car and a championship with new regulations begin. He has already had to experiment, develop cars, but in inferior teams, today he is going to develop a car that is in first place today. “ said the Mexican driver’s father.
2022 would be a fresh slate for Sergio Perez as F1 will have new cars. But it would be interesting to see if he would challenge his teammate and the Mercedes in the championship.
